Títle: MIMO Mobile Radio Systems

Lesson 1, Modelling of MIMO systems.
In the first part of the lecture after a short introduction the modeling of MIMO systems will be introduced. The main topic of the first part of the lecture is the introduction of the information theoretical basics of MIMO systems. MIMO capacity and key techniques, i.e., waterfilling and singular value decomposition will be discussed.
Lesson 2: MIMO channel modelling.
The second part of the lecture gives an overview of MIMO channel modeling. Both more realistic geometrical and statistical channel models will be introduced.
Lesson 3: Practical MIMO system.
In the third part of the lecture a bunch of practical MIMO system concepts will be discussed. The lecture will close with a short overview of diversity techniques and space time coding.

Title: MPEG Reconfigurable Video Coding.

Lesson 1, Video coding.
In the first part of the lecture the video coding standard will be introduced. The main topic of the first part of the lecture is the introduction of the basic information of video coding standard such MPEG-4 part 2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 or Scalable Video Coding. Differences between those standards will be discussed.
Lesson 2: Reconfigurable Video Coding.
The second part of the lecture gives an overview of MPEG Reconfigurable Video Coding (RVC). MPEG RVC is based on Abstract decoder model written in the interpreted CAL actor language. Basics on the language will be enlightening.
Lesson 3: Practical implementation of RVC systems.
In the third part of the lecture a bunch of RVC systems will be discussed. Both hardware and software implementation of RVC abstract decoder model will be given.

Title: High Level System Design.

Goal: The seminar will introduce the high level system design concept and techniques. The System-C language will be introduced and used to implement a functional high level description of a system. The core functionality of several blocks, described in C++, will be adapted and synthesized with Catapult, a high level synthesis framework.
