| The School of Telecommunications Engineering Campus Sur UPM has signed an agreement with the University of Leeds (United Kingdom) so students and staff can participate in the summer general English programme of The Language Centre. |
The Summer General English Programme is promoted internationally, and is therefore open to students other than EUITT students, permitting mixed nationality groups.
The LC and its programmes are accredited under the British Council’s Accreditation UK Scheme for the teaching of English as a foreign language.

- Wednesday 23 March. 12,30H. Room 3004: Information session (Slides).
- before Tuesday 12 April, 14,00H: Give in the LC application form to the External Relations Office (room 6104).
See below the FAQs, they are useful to fill in the form. - Wednesday 13 April. 12,30H. "Reina Sofía" Room: If you can not certify an A2 level, you must do the English language placement test. Immediately after, you will know if you have reached this level, otherwise you must do a listening test.
- Wednesday 27 April, 13.30h. Room 3005. Meeting with the teacher Rupert Herington, from The Language Centre, will be give the last instructions.

Calendar for Summer General English Programme 2011:
The students can enrol on the Summer General English Programme for 3 weeks within the period 4 July – 9 September, 2011.
Proposed periods:
18 July - 5 August, 2011
25 July - 12 August, 2011
1 - 19 August, 2011
8 - 26 August, 2011
15 August - 2 September, 2011
22 August - 9 September, 2011
You can attend a course for more than three weeks within the established period. The latest starting date is 22nd August 2011.
Students must start classes on any Monday up but they should arrive in Leeds the previous Saturday.
Course schedule:
The students will receive 21 hours (full-time - strongly recommended) or 15 hours (part-time*) of classroom tuition per week.
The morning schedule, Monday-Friday, is 09.30h-11h and 11.30h-13h.
The afternoon schedule, Monday-Thursday is 14h-15.30h.
* Part-time students will not be able to participate in afternoon excursions.
Course costs:
- 240GBP per week (21 hours per week).
- Self-catering accommodation: approximately 82GBP per week (subject to confirmation).
- Travel costs: approximately 250GBP.
Wednesday 30 March: deadline for applications to the Department of Education's scholarships for English language courses during the summer 2011. 16-30 years old students.
If you apply for this grant, they require a deposit of a minimum of 200 euros, so you can pay a 240 GBP deposit (equal to a week's tuition fee). When you arrive in Leeds, you must pay for the remaining course fee. The LC will advise nearer the time about how you can pay.
